Looking for Gold

I love the Olympics! Summer and Winter. I went to the the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and had the time of my life. I started planning soon after to go the the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, but I became a mama twice in the 2 years that followed and travel plans overseas were not completed. But I love the games and watch as much as I can with my children.

I have been trying to put together a study unit that we can do together in school and wondered if anyone has any good ideas or links that you would like to share. Leaning on y'alls creative juices....

Hi! Here are a few links that have been batted around on the WTM board:

From CurrClick

From A2Z Homeschool

From Amanda Bennett

I haven't used any of those because Baby Boy is older and none of those are free; however we have watched some of the NBC Learn videos and they are really good and FREE unless you want lesson plans

I love the Olympics too! I'm so jealous that you've actually gone to them before. LUCKY!!!

Thx Mom #1. I liked the one from Currclick and think I will go with that one. The videos from NBC are cool. I cannot wait until Friday. I have my flag shirt and pins ready!

Peace

I love the Olympics. I remember with delight the winter Olympics when the American team won in hockey. I watched it with my father (my father died over 25 years ago). Our family watches as much of the Olympics as we can together. Go out and buy a cheap stop watch. We timed everything! Winners got special privilges like sleeping in for an extra 15 minutes or no dish duty for one night. I can't wait to hear what you guys come up with!
Be blessed!
