M*****'s Home School ~~ Home of the Rottweilers. We started this blog with the purpose of sharing information with our friends and family, but most of all to give our students more experience in writing, publishing and improving their communication skills. But changes and life marched on and now this blog serves as a record of our school progress and some of that life that marches.

It's Done!
We really really like it!!! It is a solid structure. It's not going anywhere. I hope the next people who buy the house like it too, 'cause I don't even want to think about taking it down LOL! Really though,
I am very pleased with the investment and the boys seem to like it. It smells so good in the boys room right now with the freshly cut and painted wood. Don't worry... I am sure they will have it smelling like dirty socks and undies in no time.
I had to put signs on the doors because every one is all confused now about the boy's room versus mamma's room. I found the preschoolers pajamas on the floor in my room this morning after telling him to take them to his room. Ha Ha.
The bottom bed has a toddler mattress on it for now as I will need to buy a new twin.

That looks amazing! How did you divy up the levels?
James is 11 and on the top bunk. I opted for no ladder because all the research said that falls from the ladder were a major cause of injury. He climbs up the end. The "baby" who really is almost 4 years old is in the middle because I thought it would be easier to keep him in his bed instead of him up messing around. He is afraid of falling and will not do the ladder on his own. Jackson is on the bottom for now. He would like to switch to the middle after the "baby" learns to stay on his bed.
I like it! And you did such a great job of putting it together....ahem....
I lvoe the smell of new wood, makes me think of my dad, trips to the lumber yard and addtions to the cottage...memories. :)
We had bunk beds too..not tripple deckers though.
well i am anonymous tonight I guess...lol
I told you we have almost exactly the same one. My youngest fell off the middle bunk when he was 4 and broke his arm. The occupational therapist said that might have been what caused some of his writing issues, since his right arm is now weaker. Make sure your boys know to be careful. I was really concerned about falls from the top bunk, but not really about the middle bunk because I didn't think it was high enough. Live and learn I guess.
I think falling from a bunk bed builds caracter...better than getting dropped on your head. lol Just kidding. When I was a kid I loved our bunk beds...always argued who got the top bunk.
