It's $ Time... I Mean Football Time.

My 10th grader starts football practice today. He has been playing since he was 7 or 8 years of age. The community teams in our city are pretty affordable, it's the equipment that empties pockets, wallets, purses and that big ole jar of change that you keep on the dresser. And of course, his feet grew 1 1/2 sizes this summer so he needs new cleats. But we have been blessed to have very decent coaches and great booster clubs so it is always worth the cost. Oh! and we tackle (some pun intended) that socialization concern that people have. LOL

It does get costly - organized sports, but soooo worth the time and involvement for the kids. My girls play HS basketball and softball and I know what you mean - especially about the shoes/cleats!

So nice to meet you De - thanks for stopping by my site. Hope to see you again soon - Kellan

I hope y'all have a great season.

We don't do football, but I tell you Baby Boy's martial arts are a pocket drainer too, with the uniforms (he insists on growing taller every year) the testing fees, the gas from running back and forth to the studio 3 or 4 days a week. Don't even get my started.

The other things he does don't cost too much money, just time, but I'm a homeschool Mom. Time is all I've got, right? LOL.

It'll be that time here soon. I think all moms need roller skates during this time because we are constantly on the go. Oh the sacifrices we make but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Ahhh, yes, socialization. I love that topic when brought up to me by anti-homeschoolers...I just smile!!! UGH!

Kudos for making the sacrifice to do what your son desires. It will pay off in the end!
